AGPL-3.0-only#
OpenXplorer’s modified desktop application, this website and project-authored documentation are distributed under GNU Affero General Public License version 3 only (SPDX: AGPL-3.0-only). The full text is included in LICENSE. No warranty is provided.
The license file contains its standard example notice mentioning later versions. The project’s own grant is explicitly version 3 only. Earlier Winspace copies already released under MIT retain those terms.
Corresponding source on GitHub#
The public GitHub repository provides the preferred editable files, build scripts, documentation and dependency declarations for this release. The website links to that repository instead of hosting its own source archive or installer. Dependencies installed unchanged from package registries or system repositories remain under their respective licenses.
When hosting a modified version that supports remote interaction, keep an appropriate offer of its corresponding source available to those users. Consult the actual license text, especially sections 6 and 13, for the conditions rather than relying on this brief description.
Preserved notices#
The original Winspace MIT notice is retained in licenses/Winspace-MIT.txt and packaged with the application. AppStream metadata remains CC0-1.0. Next.js, React and other dependencies are not relicensed by this project. See THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md.
An independent project#
Windows, Windows File Explorer, Zorin OS, Ubuntu, Debian and Vercel are names of their respective owners. OpenXplorer is not affiliated with or endorsed by those projects. The design directions are inspired by familiar interaction and visual styles; no Microsoft or Zorin artwork or proprietary fonts is bundled.
Project identity before publication#
The canonical project domain is openxplorer.app and the public source repository is https://github.com/AKolenda/openxplorer. The website does not host release downloads. Use genuine maintainer/contact details when they are added and do not fabricate usage statistics or support claims.
